Candidate Questionnaire Responses
When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?
One of the most important aspects of a tax assessor's job is to be fair and equitable to all of our community regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or any other social status. For the last 6 years I've worked for M&T Bank, where we have strived to foster a Safe and Accepting workplace. If elected I will bring this same mentality to the tax assessor role and make sure everyone is treated equally.
Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?
I am a lifelong Southold resident. I met my wife Danielle, in Mattituck High School. After High School I attended Siena College where I earned my bachelor's degree in finance. I returned home and began working for local financial and bank branches in Shelter Island, Greenport, Southold, and Cutchogue. I've worked for a variety of financial institutions, including Morgan Stanely, Farm Credit East, and most recently M&T Bank. I've spent the last 15 years working with retail, commercial and agricultural customers on the North Fork of Long Island. My diverse background with a number of different customers and banks has given me a unique perspective on local finances. However, it is my deep roots in town and my love for my community that has compelled me to run for the position of Southold Town Tax Assessor.
