BVLI’s Next Gen Black Leadership Series

Our Campaign Staff Training Bootcamp is a groundbreaking leadership and campaign development initiative we are launching in JULY 2025. This project is designed to equip the next generation of Black campaign professionals with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to build winning campaigns and transform Long Island politics from the ground up.

Over two weekends, July 25-26 and Aug 2-3, 2025, selected participants will engage in intensive in-person training sessions led by experienced political strategists, elected officials, policy experts, and community organizers. Through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on simulations, the training series will demystify the political process and help build a stronger bench of Black campaign talent across Long Island.

Candidate Requirements

• Must identify as Black or of African descent

• Must reside in Nassau or Suffolk County

• Must be 18 years or older by the start of the program

• Demonstrate a commitment to public service, community organizing, or political engagement

• Commit to attending all training sessions

No prior campaign experience is required — just passion, commitment, and a desire to lead.
