Candidate Questionnaire Responses
When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?
Brookhaven's landfill is an environmental crisis and budgetary nightmare with a disparate negative impact on communities of POC. The Brookhaven Republicans has had 10 years to deal with the closure. But instead of addressing the problem, they keep kicking the can down the road. Instead of protecting residents from dangerous air-borne toxins, Republicans have taken pay-offs from the trash-burning plants and covered up the danger. As Supervisor, I will tackle this issue head on and create a real action plan with solutions.
