Candidate Questionnaire Responses
When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?
As a candidate for the NYS Assembly, I am committed to reducing harm and ensuring social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders through several key initiatives. First, I will advocate for policies that promote equal access to quality education and job opportunities. This includes increasing funding for workforce development programs and improving career pathways in underserved communities.
Second, I will continue to support criminal justice reform, working to address disparities in policing, sentencing, and incarceration that disproportionately affect Black Long Islanders. I will also support initiatives that provide mental health services, housing assistance, and reentry programs to reduce recidivism and help individuals transition successfully back into society.
Lastly, I will fight for affordable housing and equitable healthcare, ensuring that Black residents have access to essential services without discrimination or economic barriers. By collaborating with local leaders, community organizations, and businesses, I aim to build a more inclusive and prosperous Long Island for all its residents.
