When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?

As is widely known, the results of redlining throughout Nassau County have had devastating effects on communities of color, including primarily the African-American population. As County Clerk, I plan to make resources more accessible to Central Nassau where the majority of people of African descent reside (Freeport, Roosevelt, Uniondale, Hempstead, Baldwin, etc). More specifically, I will ensure that the Clerk's mobile van that is supposed to serve all corners of the county actually visits the above-mentioned areas, which it has never served before. I will also extend the hours of the office to accommodate residents who need to complete transactions and because of work responsibilities are unable to make it into the office during regular business hours. Most importantly--although affordability is a concern throughout the county--I plan to propose legislation that reduces. the fees for property deed transactions which are higher than those of any other county in New York, thus making the cost of living more affordable especially for our most vulnerable populations, including people of African descent.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?

In the 400-year history of Nassau County (200 years since its charter), there has never been an African-American elected to a county-wide position. I would be the first. Being elected into this position would also significantly increase momentum for the 2026 midterms and increase my party's chances of success next year. I would be honored to have your endorsement and would continue to advocate for people of color who have been historically marginalized throughout Nassau County.
