Candidate Questionnaire Responses
When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?
49% of Town of Islip residents are people of color but only 5% of the town workforce is - I would start there. Additionally, I would support redistricting the town into six districts which would allow local communities more power and opportunity to elect candidates that reflect their backgrounds and values, rather than the current gerrymandered status. Additionally we need to fight for affordable housing by expanding the Town of Islip Housing Authority program to bring more truly affordable housing.
Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?
I do not accept money from businesses or companies that do business or seek to do business with the town; I will represent the town's people and not political donors and the well connected.
