When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?

Equitable representation starts with the idea that the representative of a community must be familiar with the people, and have a track record of demonstrated commitment to its residents. I am a first time candidate running for the Nassau County Legislature in legislative district 1. This is an entirely new district which came about after redistricting. It is comprised of most of the Village of Hempstead, and all of Rockville Centre. As it is a new district, there is no incumbent. I chose to run because I have deep roots in both communities. I

Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?

I am a co-founder of the non-profit, RVC Friends of MLK, Inc., a non-profit, which was formed to provide resources, financial and otherwise, the MLK Community Center in Rockville Centre. I have also been active mentoring youth from elementary through high school.
