When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?

There is a growing diversity in our community.As the Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes I will work to ensure all materials are available in the local community and language most comfortable to that person. With taxes at an all time high, I will increase the public education outreach to help seniors, veterans, the disabled and our volunteer first responders, access the programs which already exist to lower their taxes. I will advocate for an overhaul of our broken Nassau County assessment system to ensure your taxes are fair and equitable.

Mike Reid is a retired NYC Paramedic and active volunteer firefighter with nearly 40 years of service to the community. He most recently served as Chief of Staff to NYS Senator John Brooks.
