Candidate Questionnaire Responses
When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?
Currently in my third term on the City Council of the City of Glen Cove NY, I was inspired to serve the public on a platform of integrity, transparency and fiscal responsibility and have remained committed to those values. I make decisions based on objectivity, facts and data in order to make balanced and fair decisions and to assist the most people possible. Upon taking office in 2018, I implemented programing to support diversity and inclusion and I continue to do so. As a Board Member of the Nassau County EOC, I work with community leaders to help facilitate programs to assist minority communities. I am running for re-election in November 2023 to continue to advocate on behalf of the public, particularly those segments of the population to are often marginalized and underrepresented.
Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?
I am an independent voice for all the residents of Glen Cove's diverse community. I have stood with the minority community when under the guise of "removing blight" many residents were removed to pave the way for luxury residences. I take seriously my duty to represent all members of the community. I take the initiative to understand the specific issues facing different segments of the Glen Cove population. The driving force behind my involvment in the EOC is helping to improve the lives of all residents of Glen Cove.
