Candidate Questionnaire Responses
When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?
During my tenure as Town Supervisor, I have worked to foster an inclusive community that prioritizes social and economic equity for all Town residents, and this remains true for the Black community in the Town of North Hempstead as well. Over the first two years of my term, I have worked hard to make the Town of North Hempstead a more affordable place to live, and have cut taxes two years in a row, 5% in 2022 and 10% in 2023. Our residents pay some of the highest property taxes in the country, and I believe it is incumbent upon all elected officials to find a way to relieve the financial burden our taxpayers face as much as possible, while still running the Town in a sound fiscal manner. I am proud of my record, and I appreciate your consideration.
Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?
I am proud of my good government agenda of lower taxes and increased government accountability and transparency. I have delivered on my pledge to repave roads, doubling the Town’s paving budget year-over-year, while also reducing the Town’s reliance on borrowing and debt issuance. I have worked hard for the residents of North Hempstead and I appreciate your consideration for your support.
