Candidate Questionnaire Responses

When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?

As County Legislator, my priorities are safety, affordability, and opportunity. Black Long Islanders, in many ways, have been left behind by economic growth and opportunities our community has seen. To address these issues, I will work to pass an economic agenda that supports Black entrepreneurs, job training and affordable higher education for Suffolk residents. In addition, I will work to close the health equity gap here on Long Island, including cancer rates and maternal mortality rates, by collaborating with hospitals, healthcare workers and community stakeholders. Lastly, I will work with the police to make sure Long Island safer for everyone. This means that we must continue to evaluate the Suffolk County Police Reform and Reinvention Plan and ensure that those adopted measures are reaching the goals set forth by the community. I would consider it an honor and privilege to serve the constituents of the 6th Legislative District.
