When in office, what will you do to reduce harm and ensure there is social and economic equity for Black Long Islanders? If you are an incumbent, what policies/initiatives/laws have you supported that do this?

I want to continue to work I did when I was a Legislative Aide under Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory and Rob Calarco with the Fair Housing Task Force, which looked to address inequities in access to housing. The Task Force worked with the State to address adding new training requirements for realtors to tackle discrimination. In particular I'd like to fight for reforms to County housing policy as well to help reduce redlining.

Another major focus of mine would be to continue the work done by County Executive Bellone to diversify the County's workforce. There are many well-paying County jobs that need to be advertised in diverse communities and opportunities that pass by simply because people don't know about the civil service exams.

Work also needs to be done with policing in Suffolk County, black and brown Long Islanders are stopped at higher rates in traffic stops, and to me work needs to be done to minimize the number of traffic stops that take place. As Legislator I would push for reform efforts that would minimize traffic stops being permitted for minor violations like for example a busted tail-light. Red light cameras are also disproportionately placed in communities of color like Central Islip, and I would push the County to reduce the number of red light cameras in these communities.

When I worked in the Town of Babylon, I helped to oversee the Town's Direct Support Program which provided up to $49,500 to small businesses, non-profit organizations, and veteran's organizations. This program I feel could be a model for communities like Central Islip to revitalize black-owned businesses that have been impacted from the pandemic. Central Islip has had the highest business vacancy rate of any community on Long Island since the pandemic.

Another policy I want to push is to improve the County's public transportation system, the bus system is currently unreliable, and largely runs hourly. This means that one bus missing for being delayed can make someone late to work, so I would push for investments in the bus system, including new staff, buses and updating technology including a new mobile tracking app so that the County can have a bus system that arrives at each stop at least twice an hour.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your campaign?

I'm a lifelong resident of Central Islip living there with my wife Nancy. I graduated from Central Islip High School in 2013 and from Stony Brook University in 2017 and if elected Legislator, I'd be the youngest Legislator by over a decade.
